Drug intelligence / Profile preview
CAPCS cooling gel is a topical therapeutic product developed by the South Korean company CAPCS Co., Ltd. for the management of atopic dermatitis. The gel functions primarily through a physical cooling mechanism that helps to reduce skin temperature, thereby alleviating pruritus (itching) and the associated inflammatory response. Beyond its cooling properties, the gel acts as a skin barrier protectant, helping to restore the integrity of the epidermal barrier and reduce transepidermal water loss (TEWL), which are key pathological features of atopic dermatitis. It has been investigated in clinical trials in South Korea as a non-steroidal, device-based topical therapy to manage the symptoms of mild to moderate atopic dermatitis.
