Overview

Capecitabine + eribulin + gemcitabine + vinorelbine is a multi-agent chemotherapy regimen composed of four distinct small molecule cytotoxic drugs, each with a different mechanism of action. These agents are commonly used as single agents or in various combinations for the treatment of metastatic breast cancer and other solid tumors. Capecitabine is an oral prodrug converted to 5-fluorouracil, which inhibits DNA synthesis by targeting thymidylate synthase[6]. Eribulin is a microtubule inhibitor that disrupts mitotic spindle formation, leading to cell cycle arrest and apoptosis[1][7]. Gemcitabine is a nucleoside analog that incorporates into DNA during replication, causing chain termination and apoptosis[1]. Vinorelbine is another microtubule inhibitor that interferes with tubulin polymerization. This combination targets multiple pathways involved in tumor cell proliferation and survival. The regimen may be considered for heavily pretreated or advanced-stage breast cancer patients when rapid disease control or symptom relief is needed[2][3][4].
