Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Capecitabine + ramucirumab is a combination therapy that pairs capecitabine, an oral fluoropyrimidine chemotherapy agent, with ramucirumab, a vascular endothelial growth factor receptor 2 (VEGFR2) inhibitor. This combination has been studied primarily in gastrointestinal cancers, including advanced esophagogastric adenocarcinoma and metastatic colorectal cancer. The PLATFORM study demonstrated significant improvements in progression-free survival and overall survival when used as maintenance therapy in patients with advanced esophagogastric adenocarcinoma following platinum-based chemotherapy.
