Overview

Capixyl is a patented, proprietary cosmetic complex comprised of a **biomimetic peptide (acetyl tetrapeptide-3)** and a **red clover (Trifolium pratense) flower extract rich in biochanin A**[2][5][8][13][14][19]. It is designed primarily for use in topical formulations for **hair loss prevention and hair growth stimulation**. Its mechanism of action combines multiple effects: - **Inhibition of 5-alpha-reductase enzyme** by biochanin A, which reduces conversion of testosterone to dihydrotestosterone (DHT), a driver of androgenic alopecia and hair follicle miniaturization[4][5][13][14][16][21]. - **Promotion of extracellular matrix (ECM) renewal** and anchoring proteins to increase hair follicle anchoring and delay hair shedding, via the biomimetic peptide acetyl tetrapeptide-3[5][13][14][19]. - **Anti-inflammatory activity** on the scalp to create a more favorable environment for hair growth[4][5][14][16].
