Overview
CapsuleX (also known as Aidi Capsule) is a traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) compound preparation being evaluated by The First Hospital of Jilin University for the treatment of gynecological malignancies. It is a botanical product containing extracts from *Mylabris* (cantharidin), *Ginseng*, *Astragalus*, and *Acanthopanax*. CapsuleX is primarily studied in combination with cisplatin for patients with platinum-resistant recurrent ovarian cancer, fallopian tube cancer, and primary peritoneal cancer. Its mechanism of action involves the inhibition of protein phosphatase 2A (PP2A) via cantharidin, which induces apoptosis and inhibits tumor cell proliferation, as well as immune-modulating effects from its herbal components. The combination therapy aims to sensitize tumor cells to platinum-based agents and improve the objective response rate in resistant populations.
