CaPTeR (Cancer de Páncreas: Terapia de Precisión con Radioligandos) is a preclinical-stage theranostic radiopharmaceutical platform being developed by Merken Biotech in collaboration with PositronMed. The technology is specifically designed to target Pancreatic Ductal Adenocarcinoma (PDAC) by binding to undisclosed molecular targets overexpressed in tumor tissue. The platform utilizes a theranostic approach, employing diagnostic radioligands labeled with isotopes such as Gallium-68, Fluorine-18, or Technetium-99m for PET/SPECT imaging, and therapeutic radioligands labeled with alpha or beta emitters like Lutetium-177, Yttrium-90, Actinium-225, or Lead-212 to deliver localized radiation directly to the tumor. The development of this technology is supported by the CORFO Innova Alta Tecnología 2024 grant and aims to advance precision medicine for advanced pancreatic cancer.
