CAR-CXCR2 NK92 cells are a genetically engineered cell therapy composed of NK92 cells that are modified to express both a chimeric antigen receptor (CAR), targeting a specific tumor antigen such as glypican-3 (GPC3), and the chemokine receptor CXCR2[1][4][6]. This dual engineering enhances the ability of these NK cells to migrate toward tumors expressing CXCR2 ligands and increases their cytotoxicity against cancer cells[1][4][6]. The CAR component enables direct antigen-specific killing, while CXCR2 overexpression promotes intratumoral infiltration and migration[1][4]. Preclinical studies demonstrated potent anti-tumor activity in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) models, particularly when combined with radiotherapy, which synergistically increases tumor immunogenicity and NK-cell activating ligands[1]. CAR-CXCR2 NK92 cells are being explored for the treatment of solid tumors such as HCC and potentially other malignancies.
