CAR-exosome is a preclinical-stage, cell-free allogeneic extracellular vesicle (EV)-based therapy being developed by INOVIQ. The platform involves engineering exosomes to express Chimeric Antigen Receptors (CARs) on their surface, allowing them to specifically recognize and target tumor antigens. Unlike traditional CAR-T cell therapies, CAR-exosomes are non-cellular, potentially offering advantages in safety (reduced risk of cytokine release syndrome), stability, and the ability to penetrate solid tumors. INOVIQ is currently evaluating these therapeutics for the treatment of triple-negative breast cancer (TNBC) and glioblastoma.
