Drug intelligence / Profile preview
CAR-HSC is a hematopoietic stem cell-based chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) therapy platform developed by Immugenia. The technology involves engineering hematopoietic stem cells (HSCs) to express a CAR, which then differentiate in vivo into a variety of immune cells, including CAR-T and CAR-NK cells. This approach is designed to provide a continuous, long-term supply of tumor-targeting immune cells, potentially overcoming the limitations of exhaustion and transient persistence associated with traditional mature CAR-T cell therapies. Immugenia is currently advancing several CAR-HSC candidates in the discovery and proof-of-concept stages, targeting antigens such as CD22 for Pre-B acute lymphoblastic leukemia, B7-H3 for rhabdomyosarcoma, and EGFRvIII for glioblastoma.
