Overview

CAR-NK (Octomera) is an investigational chimeric antigen receptor-modified natural killer (NK) cell therapy being developed by Octomera, a subsidiary of Orgenesis. Currently in the preclinical stage, this therapy is designed to treat multiple myeloma and ovarian cancer. The platform involves engineering NK cells to express chimeric antigen receptors (CARs) that direct the cells' innate cytotoxic activity toward specific tumor-associated antigens. CAR-NK cells are considered a promising alternative to traditional CAR-T cell therapies due to their potential for allogeneic, "off-the-shelf" administration and a lower risk of severe immune-related adverse events, such as cytokine release syndrome (CRS) and graft-versus-host disease (GvHD). The specific molecular targets for this program have not yet been publicly disclosed.
