CAR-T cells (Mingzhi Zhang) refers to a clinical research program and suite of autologous chimeric antigen receptor T-cell therapies developed and investigated by Professor Mingzhi Zhang at the First Affiliated Hospital of Zhengzhou University. This program evaluates various CAR-T constructs targeting specific tumor-associated antigens, including CD19, CD20, and CD22 for B-cell malignancies such as B-cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia (B-ALL) and B-cell lymphomas, as well as B-cell maturation antigen (BCMA) for multiple myeloma. The therapy involves the genetic modification of a patient's own T cells to express a CAR that recognizes these specific surface proteins, enabling the immune system to identify and destroy malignant cells. These therapies are primarily being evaluated in patients with relapsed or refractory (R/R) hematological and lymphatic tumors.
