CAR-T mesothelin cell therapy is an investigational autologous adoptive cell therapy being evaluated by Nanjing Maternity and Child Health Care Hospital for the treatment of metastatic or unresectable gynecological cancers. The therapy involves the genetic modification of a patient's own T cells to express a chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) that specifically targets mesothelin (MSLN), a cell-surface glycoprotein frequently overexpressed in ovarian, endometrial, and cervical cancers. Once re-infused into the patient, these engineered T cells identify and eliminate MSLN-positive malignant cells in an MHC-independent manner, potentially overcoming immune evasion mechanisms common in solid tumors. This program is part of a broader immunotherapy trial evaluating various CAR-T and CAR-NK strategies in gynecological malignancies.
