Drug intelligence / Profile preview
CAR-Tumor M01 is an in vivo chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) tumor cell therapy being developed by Rongrui Medicine (Joint Biosciences) in collaboration with the Cancer Institute and Hospital, Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences. It utilizes a genetically engineered vesicular stomatitis virus (VSV) vector platform to deliver a CAR transgene (such as an anti-CD3 CAR) directly into tumor cells. Upon infection, the tumor cells express the CAR on their outer membrane, which binds to CD3 on T cells, thereby recruiting and activating the patient's own T cells to target and destroy the tumor cells. This approach essentially reprograms the tumor cells to act as 'drug factories' and trigger localized, precise immune destruction of the tumor. CAR-Tumor M01 is currently in Phase I clinical development for the treatment of advanced malignant solid tumors.
