Drug intelligence / Profile preview
CAR002 (also known as mCAR002) is a preclinical-stage therapeutic candidate being developed by Caravan Biologix. It is designed using the company's proprietary Chimeric Antigen Receptor (CAR)-targeted (CT) Nano-BioSphere platform, which utilizes cell-derived vesicles/nanoparticles engineered to emulate the functions of immune cells. CAR002 is armed with a CAR designed to target an undisclosed carcinoma-specific antigen, enabling the precise delivery of apoptotic proteins (such as perforins, granzymes, and p53) directly to tumor cells. This mechanism is intended to provide enhanced tumor penetration and localized cytotoxicity while minimizing systemic side effects. The candidate is currently in preclinical development for the treatment of various carcinomas, including hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) and pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma (PDAC).
