Overview

CAR13 is an engineered Chimeric Antigen Receptor (CAR) T cell therapy designed to treat Anaplastic Thyroid Carcinoma (ATC). It targets Interleukin-13 receptor subunit alpha-2 (IL13Rα2), a protein found to be highly expressed in ATC cells. Upon binding to IL13Rα2 on tumor cells, CAR13 T cells are activated, leading to proliferation, cytokine production, and subsequent cytolysis (killing) of the tumor cells. Preclinical studies in xenograft mouse models of poorly differentiated thyroid cancer have demonstrated its anti-tumor potency and tumor infiltration.
