Overview

CAR19-BCMA CAR-T cells (Affiliated Hospital to Academy of Military Medical Sciences) is an investigational dual-targeted chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) T-cell therapy designed to treat relapsed or refractory plasma cell neoplasms. The therapy utilizes autologous T cells genetically modified to simultaneously target two distinct antigens: B-lymphocyte antigen CD19 and B-cell maturation antigen (BCMA). While BCMA is a well-validated target for multiple myeloma, the addition of CD19 targeting is intended to address potential antigen escape and target a broader range of malignant cells, including those with lower BCMA expression or progenitor-like qualities. Developed by the Affiliated Hospital to the Academy of Military Medical Sciences, this cell therapy is currently being evaluated in early-phase clinical trials for indications including multiple myeloma, plasma cell leukemia, and systemic light chain amyloidosis.
