CAR19T2 (also referred to as CAT19T2) is a humanized chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) T-cell therapy targeting the CD19 antigen. Developed by Zhujiang Hospital, this autologous cell therapy involves the genetic modification of a patient's T cells to express a CAR construct containing a humanized single-chain variable fragment (scFv) specific for CD19, which is a protein ubiquitously expressed on B-cell lineages and associated malignancies. The use of a humanized binding domain is intended to minimize the risk of anti-mouse immune responses, potentially enhancing the persistence and therapeutic durability of the CAR-T cells. It is primarily being investigated for the treatment of pediatric patients with refractory or relapsed B-cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia (B-ALL) and B-cell lymphoma.
