Overview

CAR2219 is an investigational chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) T-cell therapy designed to target both CD19 and CD22 antigens on B cells. This dual-targeting approach aims to overcome antigen escape, a common resistance mechanism in B-cell malignancies treated with single-antigen CAR-T therapies. By engineering patient-derived T cells to express receptors for both CD19 and CD22, CAR2219 seeks to improve efficacy and durability of response in relapsed or refractory B-cell lymphomas and leukemias. The therapy is being developed primarily for patients who have relapsed after prior anti-CD19 CAR-T cell treatments or have tumors that are negative for CD19 but positive for CD22.
