Carbarsone

Carbarsone is an organoarsenic compound used primarily as an antiprotozoal drug. It was historically employed for the treatment of intestinal amoebiasis in humans and for controlling histomoniasis (blackhead disease) and other infectious diseases in poultry, especially chickens and turkeys. Carbarsone acts as an antiamebic agent, though its precise molecular mechanism of action is not fully elucidated; it is believed to exert its effects through interference with protozoal metabolism.
