Overview

A combination antibiotic therapy consisting of carbenicillin (a penicillin derivative), fosfomycin (a phosphonic acid antibiotic), and gentamicin (an aminoglycoside). This combination leverages potential synergistic effects between these antibiotics. Carbenicillin and gentamicin have demonstrated synergistic activity against Pseudomonas aeruginosa infections, while fosfomycin combined with aminoglycosides like gentamicin has shown efficacy against certain carbapenemase-producing strains. The combination may be particularly useful for treating severe infections caused by resistant gram-negative bacteria.
