Overview

This is a combination of four chemotherapy drugs that includes two platinum agents (carboplatin and cisplatin) and two taxane agents (docetaxel and paclitaxel). While these drugs are not typically used together as a four-drug regimen, they are commonly used in various two-drug platinum-taxane combinations for treating different types of cancer. The platinum agents (carboplatin and cisplatin) work by forming DNA crosslinks that inhibit DNA repair and synthesis in cancer cells, while the taxanes (docetaxel and paclitaxel) work by disrupting microtubule function during cell division.
