Overview
This is a combination therapy consisting of platinum-based chemotherapy agents (carboplatin and cisplatin), gemcitabine, and ramucirumab. Ramucirumab is a monoclonal antibody that targets vascular endothelial growth factor receptor 2 (VEGFR2), inhibiting VEGF-mediated tumor angiogenesis. The platinum compounds and gemcitabine are cytotoxic agents commonly used in cancer treatment. This combination has been studied in clinical trials for non-small cell lung cancer.
