Drug intelligence / Profile preview
A combination therapy consisting of carboplatin (a platinum-based chemotherapy), endostatin (an anti-angiogenic agent), and paclitaxel (a taxane chemotherapy). This regimen works through multiple mechanisms: carboplatin forms DNA crosslinks preventing cancer cells from dividing properly; paclitaxel stabilizes microtubules, preventing their breakdown during cell division and thus inhibiting cancer cell proliferation; and endostatin inhibits angiogenesis by blocking pro-angiogenic growth factors such as basic fibroblast growth factor and vascular endothelial growth factor.
