Overview

This is a three-drug combination therapy consisting of: 1. **Carboplatin** - A platinum-based chemotherapy agent that works by forming DNA crosslinks, inhibiting DNA synthesis and causing cell death 2. **Eribulin mesylate** - A non-taxane microtubule dynamics inhibitor in the halichondrin class of antineoplastic drugs 3. **Trastuzumab** - A monoclonal antibody that targets the HER2 receptor This combination leverages multiple mechanisms of action to treat HER2-positive breast cancer. Eribulin disrupts microtubule dynamics through a novel mechanism different from taxanes, carboplatin causes DNA damage, and trastuzumab specifically targets HER2-overexpressing cancer cells[3][4]. Clinical studies have investigated this combination in both the metastatic and neoadjuvant settings for HER2-positive breast cancer[3].
