Overview

This is a combination chemotherapy regimen consisting of carboplatin (a platinum-based chemotherapy agent), gemcitabine (a nucleoside analog), and panitumumab (a fully human monoclonal antibody targeting EGFR). The combination has been studied in clinical trials for various cancer types, including triple-negative breast cancer, bladder cancer, and biliary tract cancer. In a phase II trial for metastatic triple-negative breast cancer, the combination showed a median progression-free survival of 4.4 months and an objective response rate of 42%, though the results did not support its continued use in this indication. Common adverse effects include rash, fatigue, neutropenia, and thrombocytopenia.
