The rationale for combining these agents includes targeting multiple mechanisms of tumor survival and resistance. Hydroxychloroquine’s inhibition of autophagy may enhance the cytotoxic effects of carboplatin and paclitaxel[1][2]. This combination has been studied in clinical trials for metastatic NSCLC[1], with ongoing research into its safety profile and efficacy.
