Overview

Carboplatin + paclitaxel + atezolizumab + bevacizumab + nogapendekin alfa inbakicept (NAI) is an investigational five-drug combination regimen developed by ImmunityBio for the first-line treatment of advanced or metastatic non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). This regimen integrates the established IMpower150 standard-of-care backbone—comprising the platinum-based chemotherapy carboplatin, the taxane chemotherapy paclitaxel, the anti-PD-L1 monoclonal antibody atezolizumab (Tecentriq), and the anti-VEGF monoclonal antibody bevacizumab (Avastin)—with NAI (N-803). NAI is a first-in-class IL-15 receptor superagonist complex designed to promote the activation and proliferation of natural killer (NK) cells and CD8+ T cells without inducing regulatory T cell expansion. By combining cytotoxic chemotherapy, anti-angiogenic therapy, and dual-mechanism immunotherapy (checkpoint inhibition plus cytokine stimulation), the regimen aims to overcome tumor immune evasion and improve survival outcomes. It is currently being evaluated in a Phase 3 clinical trial (NCT03520686).
