Overview

A combination therapy consisting of two chemotherapy agents (carboplatin and paclitaxel) plus an oncolytic virus (Reolysin/pelareorep). Carboplatin is a platinum-based chemotherapy that works by crosslinking DNA, interfering with cell division. Paclitaxel is a taxane that stabilizes microtubules, preventing cell division. Reolysin is a formulation of wild-type reovirus that selectively replicates in and kills cancer cells with activated Ras pathways. The combination leverages multiple mechanisms to target cancer cells, including DNA damage, mitotic arrest, and virus-mediated cell death. Reolysin also demonstrates anti-angiogenic properties through induction of CXCL10.
