Drug intelligence / Profile preview
CARBOXY-DS is a topical ophthalmic lubricant developed by Protech Remedies for the treatment of dry eye syndrome. Its active ingredient is carboxymethylcellulose (sodium carboxymethylcellulose), a cellulose derivative that acts as an artificial tear substitute. The formulation is designed to mimic natural tears, providing temporary relief from burning, irritation, and discomfort by increasing tear film stability and forming a protective film over the ocular surface. It is a "Bak Free" formulation, utilizing Oxychloro Complex as a preservative to minimize ocular surface toxicity and maintain proper eye lubrication.
