Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Cardiac Targeted AOC is an investigational antibody-oligonucleotide conjugate (AOC) being developed by Aera Therapeutics. The therapeutic is designed to utilize the high specificity of a monoclonal antibody to deliver an oligonucleotide payload directly to cardiac tissue. By targeting specific cell-surface markers within the heart, the conjugate aims to overcome the historical challenges of delivering RNA-based medicines to cardiomyocytes. This targeted approach is intended to maximize therapeutic efficacy while minimizing systemic off-target effects. As of early 2024, the program is in the lead optimization phase, though the specific molecular targets and primary cardiovascular indications have not yet been publicly disclosed.
