Overview

CardioEA is a high-potency dietary supplement featuring concentrated eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA), an omega-3 polyunsaturated fatty acid derived from fish oil. Developed for cardiovascular support, it primarily functions by modulating lipid profiles and exerting anti-inflammatory effects. EPA acts as a potent agonist of the peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor alpha (PPAR-α), which leads to increased fatty acid oxidation and decreased hepatic production of triglycerides and very-low-density lipoproteins (VLDL). Furthermore, EPA competitively inhibits the enzymes cyclooxygenase (COX) and 5-lipoxygenase (5-LOX), reducing the synthesis of pro-inflammatory series-2 prostaglandins and series-4 leukotrienes in favor of less inflammatory series-3 and series-5 analogs. This dual action helps manage hypertriglyceridemia and supports vascular endothelial function, making it a common choice for clinical nutritional intervention in heart health.
