Drug intelligence / Profile preview
CardioGraft is a proprietary line of processed human heart valves and vascular tissues used for surgical reconstruction and replacement in cardiac and vascular procedures. Developed by Artivion (formerly CryoLife), the CardioGraft processing involves specialized cleaning and cryopreservation techniques designed to reduce the immunogenicity of the donor tissue while preserving its natural extracellular matrix and structural integrity. These allografts are primarily indicated for patients requiring heart valve replacement, such as in the Ross procedure, or the repair of diseased or damaged blood vessels. Unlike mechanical prosthetic valves, CardioGraft tissues offer superior hemodynamic profiles and do not require lifelong anticoagulation therapy, making them a preferred option for pediatric patients, active individuals, and women of childbearing age.
