Overview

CardioMiR is an investigative microRNA-based therapeutic being developed by Causeway Therapeutics for the treatment of heart failure and other cardiovascular diseases. It functions as a microRNA inhibitor (anti-miR) specifically designed to target and neutralize miR-92a. In cardiovascular pathology, miR-92a is known to inhibit angiogenesis and impair endothelial cell function; by suppressing this microRNA, CardioMiR aims to promote blood vessel growth and enhance cardiac repair following injury such as myocardial infarction. The drug represents part of Causeway's pipeline utilizing synthetic oligonucleotides to modulate disease-associated microRNAs.
