Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Care Tears is a topical ophthalmic lubricant developed and manufactured by VVS Pharmaceuticals & Chemicals (a subsidiary of Vivimed Labs). It is primarily indicated for the symptomatic relief of dry eye syndrome and ocular surface irritation. The formulation typically contains carboxymethylcellulose sodium, a high-molecular-weight cellulose derivative that acts as a viscosity-enhancing agent. By mimicking the properties of natural mucins, it stabilizes the tear film, increases the residence time of moisture on the ocular surface, and provides a protective lubricating shield that reduces friction during blinking and prevents corneal desiccation.
