carfilzomib + dexamethasone

Carfilzomib + dexamethasone is a combination therapy used primarily for the treatment of relapsed or refractory multiple myeloma. Carfilzomib is a second-generation proteasome inhibitor that selectively and irreversibly binds to the 20S proteasome, blocking protein degradation within cells, leading to apoptosis of malignant plasma cells. Dexamethasone is a synthetic glucocorticoid corticosteroid that enhances the anti-myeloma effect of carfilzomib by promoting cell death in myeloma cells.
