Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Carisolv is a chemomechanical caries removal system used as a minimally invasive alternative to traditional rotary drilling for the treatment of dental caries. Developed by RLS Global AB, the system consists of a topical gel formed by mixing two solutions. The active component is sodium hypochlorite, which is buffered by three amino acids (glutamic acid, leucine, and lysine) to selectively dissolve demineralized carious dentine while leaving healthy dental tissue and pulp intact. It is particularly utilized in pediatric dentistry and is used in conjunction with specialized hand instruments for the gentle excavation of softened tissue.
