This is a combination ophthalmic formulation containing carmellose sodium (also known as carboxymethylcellulose sodium, CMC) and hyaluronic acid (HA, often in the form of its salt, sodium hyaluronate). Both are polymers used as lubricants and artificial tears for the symptomatic relief of dry eye disease. Carmellose sodium acts by binding to corneal epithelial cells via glucose receptors, increasing tear film stability and promoting corneal healing.
