Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Carni Q-gel is a combination nutraceutical/dietary supplement developed by Tishcon Corporation, containing L-carnitine fumarate and hydrosoluble reduced ubiquinol (the active form of Coenzyme Q10). Formulated as a soft-gel capsule to enhance bioavailability, it is used as an adjunctive therapy for patients with chronic heart failure (CHF). The product targets myocardial mitochondrial dysfunction and systemic inflammation by providing essential cofactors for energy metabolism and reducing pro-inflammatory cytokines such as IL-6 and TNF-alpha. Clinical evidence from the randomized, double-blind 'Tishcon Study' indicates that Carni Q-gel improves quality of life and functional capacity, as measured by the six-minute walk test, in heart failure patients receiving standard therapy.
