Overview

Carotil is a complex veterinary preparation primarily used for the treatment of uterine diseases in cows, including chronic endometritis, and for post-cesarean section, assisted parturition, or surgical removal of placenta. It exhibits a broad spectrum of antimicrobial activity, aids in restoring uterine contractile function, and promotes the regeneration of the endometrium. The drug's composition includes tylosin tartrate, carbachol, and beta-carotene. Tylosin tartrate acts as a bacteriostatic agent by inhibiting protein synthesis in various gram-positive and some gram-negative microorganisms. Beta-carotene functions as an antioxidant, inhibiting free radical reactions, protecting cellular biomembranes, and activating metabolism to promote endometrial regeneration and prevent placenta retention. Carbachol increases the tonus and enhances the contraction of uterine muscles.
