Overview

Carrasyn V Hydrogel is a topical wound dressing designed to maintain a moist environment for optimal wound healing. It is a more viscous formulation of the standard Carrasyn Hydrogel, providing increased longevity in the wound bed. The active component is acemannan, a complex carbohydrate (polysaccharide) derived from the *Aloe barbadensis* Miller plant. Developed by Medline Industries and distributed by Carrington, it is used for managing various wounds, including diabetic foot ulcers, pressure ulcers (stages I-IV), stasis ulcers, post-surgical incisions, first and second-degree burns, and radiation dermatitis. As a hydrogel, it donates moisture to dry wounds and is easily rinsed away.
