Overview

This is a combination therapy consisting of carrilizumab, bevacizumab, and capecitabine. Carrilizumab (also known as camrelizumab) is a humanized monoclonal antibody targeting the programmed cell death protein 1 (PD-1), functioning as an immune checkpoint inhibitor to enhance anti-tumor immune responses. Bevacizumab is a recombinant humanized monoclonal antibody that inhibits vascular endothelial growth factor A (VEGF-A), thereby blocking angiogenesis and reducing tumor blood supply[5][6][7]. Capecitabine is an oral prodrug of 5-fluorouracil (5-FU), which acts as an antimetabolite interfering with DNA synthesis in rapidly dividing cancer cells. This combination aims to leverage immunotherapy, anti-angiogenic therapy, and cytotoxic chemotherapy for synergistic effects in treating cancers such as metastatic colorectal cancer.
