Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Cartimotil Fort is a fixed-dose combination dietary supplement consisting of extracts from *Curcuma longa* (turmeric), *Boswellia serrata*, and *Porphyra umbilicalis* (red algae). Developed by PiLeJe Laboratoire, it is primarily used to support joint mobility and comfort, particularly in patients suffering from knee osteoarthritis. The active components include curcuminoids from turmeric and boswellic acids from boswellia, which exert anti-inflammatory and analgesic effects by inhibiting key inflammatory enzymes such as cyclooxygenase-2 (COX-2) and 5-lipoxygenase (5-LOX). The red algae component provides additional nutritional support. The product was launched in France in 2016 and has been evaluated in clinical trials for its efficacy in relieving symptoms of osteoarthritis.
