Drug intelligence / Profile preview
CartiONE is a medical technology developed by Cartilage Repair Systems BV for the single-stage repair of symptomatic focal articular-cartilage lesions of the knee. It utilizes autologous articular chondrocytes and bone marrow mononucleated cells, which are isolated and mixed in the operating room, then seeded into a biodegradable, biocompatible, load-bearing copolymer (PolyActive) scaffold for implantation. This approach aims to initiate cartilage repair using the patient's own cells, avoiding cell culturing and a second implantation surgery.
