Overview
Carviplus (carvedilol + ramipril) is a fixed-dose combination tablet developed and marketed by ADN Life Sciences for the treatment of congestive heart failure and hypertension. It combines carvedilol, a non-selective beta-adrenergic receptor blocker with alpha-1 adrenergic receptor blocking activity, and ramipril, an angiotensin-converting enzyme (ACE) inhibitor. Carvedilol reduces heart rate and myocardial contractility while promoting vasodilation, and ramipril prevents the conversion of angiotensin I to angiotensin II, leading to decreased systemic vascular resistance and blood pressure. Together, these complementary mechanisms of action reduce the workload on the heart, improve cardiac output, and lower blood pressure, making it an effective therapy for managing cardiovascular diseases.
