Overview

Cashewin is a hydro-alcoholic herbal extract derived from the residues of the cashew apple (Anacardium occidentale L.), a byproduct of the cashew nut industry. Developed and commercialized by Dialpha, this oral supplement is standardized to contain bioactive polyphenols, specifically derivatives of myricetin and quercetin flavonoids, alongside anacardic acid and vitamin C. Preclinical research in diet-induced obesity models has demonstrated that Cashewin can reduce body-weight gain, limit fat storage in adipose and liver tissues, and improve metabolic markers such as hyperglycemia, hyperinsulinemia, and insulin resistance. While its exact molecular targets are still being characterized, it is positioned for weight management and the prevention of metabolic disorders.
