Cassia alata extract is a natural medicinal preparation derived from the Cassia alata plant (also known as Senna alata), which grows in tropical regions. It contains numerous bioactive compounds including flavonoids (quercetin, kaempferol, chrysoeriol), anthraquinones, alkaloids, tannins, phenolics, terpenes, and saponins. The extract exhibits multiple pharmacological properties including antifungal, antibacterial, anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, anticonvulsant, sedative, antiviral, antidiabetic, and antihyperlipidemic effects. It is primarily used for treating various skin conditions such as ringworm, fungal infections, eczema, and psoriasis.
