Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Catagrev is an ophthalmic solution (eye drops) developed by Grevis Pharma. It is a fixed-dose combination containing potassium iodide (3.3% w/v), sodium chloride (0.83% w/v), and calcium chloride (1.0% w/v). Catagrev is indicated for the management and supportive care of cataracts, specifically to delay cataractogenesis (the progression of lenticular opacity) and to prevent posterior capsular opacification (PCO) post-operatively. The combination works by restoring ionic and electrolyte balance across the lens membrane, supporting lens metabolism, and providing antioxidant defense to protect the lens from oxidative damage.
