Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Catasyn refers to two distinct products depending on the context: - **Catasyn Syrup** is an ayurvedic herbal digestive elixir formulated and manufactured by Yamuna Pharmacy. It is designed to alleviate digestive discomfort and support overall digestive wellness. The syrup contains a blend of herbal ingredients such as papaya, shunthi (ginger), kachoor, vidang, kapoor kachri, ajwain, pippali, nagarmotha, ajwain satva and podina satva. Its primary indications include indigestion, anorexia, nausea, dyspepsia (indigestion), flatulence (gas), colic pain and morning sickness. The mechanism of action is based on traditional ayurvedic principles—supporting the production of digestive enzymes and juices across various organs to facilitate digestion[1][5][7]. - **Catasyn Wound Hydrogel** is a clear hydrogel wound dressing developed by Synedgen for use in managing minor burns/cuts/abrasions as well as more severe wounds such as dermal ulcers (pressure sores/venous stasis ulcers/arterial ulcers/diabetic ulcers) and surgical wounds under healthcare supervision. It provides a moist environment that supports healing but does not contain antimicrobial agents. The hydrogel consists of hypromellose, arginine-derivatized chitosan, betaine and methylparaben[2][3][4]. Its mechanism involves maintaining moisture at the wound site to promote healing.
