Overview

CaTeVac is an autologous dendritic cell-based cancer vaccine designed for the adoptive immunotherapy of patients with solid tumors. The vaccine is produced by isolating a patient's own monocytes, differentiating them into mature dendritic cells, and loading them with tumor-associated antigens—specifically Cancer-Testis (CT) antigens, from which the name "CaTeVac" is derived. These antigens are highly expressed in various malignancies but have restricted expression in normal tissues, providing a specific target for the immune system. Once re-infused into the patient, these professional antigen-presenting cells activate the patient's T-lymphocytes (CD4+ and CD8+), stimulating a robust and targeted anti-tumor immune response. Preclinical studies have focused on standardizing the production protocol and ensuring the comparability of the cell products to human clinical versions.
