Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Cationorm is a preservative-free, cationic oil-in-water ophthalmic emulsion designed to alleviate the symptoms of dry eye syndrome (keratoconjunctivitis sicca). It utilizes the proprietary Novasorb technology, which creates positively charged nanodroplets that are electrostatically attracted to the negatively charged surface of the eye. This mechanism facilitates the even distribution of the emulsion across the ocular surface and prolongs its residence time. By replenishing the lipid layer of the tear film, Cationorm reduces tear evaporation and helps maintain ocular surface hydration, thereby addressing discomfort, burning, and itching associated with various forms of dry eye, including aqueous-deficient and evaporative dry eye.
